Multi-Actor Partnership (MAPS) Signatory

The Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC), in partnership with CARE Germany and Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII) launched the Caribbean component of the project titled “Multi-actor partnership for pro-poor & gender-equitable climate risk financing in the context of the IGP’s 2025 vision.” 

The project is global in scope and aims to build multi-actor partnerships on national, regional and international levels – bringing together civil society, policymakers, the private sector and researchers. The objective is to reduce the negative impacts of climate change on vulnerable and marginalised groups by engaging in-country stakeholders on pro-poor, gender-equitable and human rights-based Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI) measures at the local and national level, and by advocating for grassroots and national perspectives into international processes, such as the InsuResilience Global Partnership. Other national MAP chapters include Bangladesh, Laos, Madagascar, Malawi, Philippines, Senegal, Sri Lanka. On the global level, efforts are led and coordinated by CARE Germany, Germanwatch and MCII.

CPDC is the lead implementation partner in the Caribbean, with MAPs Focal Points in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada and Jamaica.  The Caribbean MAPs initiative has crafted a comprehensive long-term implementation plan for project countries, emphasising the significance of Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance.
