Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance Campaign

Building stronger regional networks through partnerships that advance civil society and inclusive development across the Caribbean.

What this Campaign Covers

Across the Caribbean, farmers, fishers, market vendors, tourism workers, and other informal workers are increasingly exposed to hurricanes, floods, droughts, and other climate-related hazards. CPDC’s recent research across five countries – Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, and Jamaica – shows that:

  • Many organizations that serve vulnerable people do not have disaster budgets.
  • Most do not collect regular membership fees and therefore lack funds to respond when climate shocks happen.
  • Only a small share keep up-to-date information on who is most vulnerable among their members.

This Toolkit was developed to help civil society organizations (CSOs), cooperatives, credit unions, and government partners.
